Page starters
Starting a page
Copy the outline that fits the subject and fill what you know. A name, a short introduction and an identifiable source are enough to begin; remove empty or irrelevant sections.
Write each section as short narrative paragraphs, following KhmerConnection:How we write, and why. Begin with one sentence that identifies the subject and can stand on its own, in under about 160 characters. On first mention, give a Khmer name as the English name, the Khmer script and the romanization, for example Water Festival (បុណ្យអុំទូក, Bon Om Touk).
These are ordinary infoboxes and article headings. No relationship helpers or reference IDs are required. Use the KhmerConnection:Field dictionary for common field values.
Organization
Model page: Cambodia Town Film Festival.
{{Organization
|name=
|type=
|focus=
|city=
|state=
|country=
|website=
}}
Write a short introduction identifying the organization and the community it serves.
== History ==
== Programs and services ==
== Community ==
== References ==
<references />
Contact details belong in the infobox, using the address, phone and contact fields, not in a page section. Other fields may be added when useful, but are not a checklist to complete.
Temple
{{Organization
|name=
|name_khmer=
|aliases=
|type=Wat
|status=unverified
|directory_visibility=review
|city=
|state=
|country=
|address=
|phone=
|contact=
|website=
}}
Write a source-supported introduction.
== History ==
== Religious services and cultural activities ==
== Annual observances and events ==
== Visiting ==
== Associations ==
== References ==
<references />
Remove empty headings. Distinguish recurring observances from one year's event schedule. A Wat's address is its visiting location. A new Wat is withheld from default discovery until directory_visibility=listed is reviewed; that does not certify unrestricted access.
For a backing-only association, put this entry under Associations:
{{Association
|id=backing-01
|name=
|role=
|legal_name=
|identifiers=
|mailing_address=
|phone=
|contact=
|website=
|source_url=
|source_label=
|verified_on=
|notes=
}}
For an independent organization with its own page, use a linked entry instead:
{{Association
|id=partner-01
|name=
|page=
|role=
|source_url=
|source_label=
|verified_on=
|notes=
}}
Required fields are id, name, role and source_url. Roles: operator, owner, supporter or associated, as supported by evidence. Keep linked organization facts on the linked page. See KhmerConnection:Field dictionary#Wat associations.
Cultural business
Model page: Sophy's.
{{Organization
|name=
|type=Cultural business
|business_type=
|city=
|state=
|country=
|website=
}}
Write a neutral introduction explaining the business and its cultural connection.
== History and ownership ==
== Products and services ==
== Visiting ==
== References ==
<references />
For a restaurant, Products and services can be Dishes and menu. Link a menu item to a Dish page where useful, without implying that a family's preparation is the restaurant's recipe.
Dance or performing arts group
{{Organization
|name=
|aliases=
|type=Arts and culture
|focus=Cambodian classical dance;
|subjects=Dance & Theatre
|city=
|state=
|country=
|founded=
|website=
}}
Write a short introduction naming the group, where it is based and who leads it.
== History ==
== Lineage and training ==
== Repertory and works ==
== Programs and teaching ==
== Performances and recognition ==
== People ==
== Community ==
== References ==
<references />
Use this outline for dance companies, troupes, schools and ensembles. Lineage and training names the teachers who trained the founder and principal teachers, as the sources name them. List the people a group names publicly with their roles, and describe their work rather than their family or personal lives. When a group gives a region rather than a city, leave city blank and name the region in the introduction. Add founded only when sources agree on the year.
Event
One dated public event. Title the page "Event name, Venue (Month Year)". Weekly and monthly programs go on the venue page as a schedule instead; see KhmerConnection:Field dictionary#Events.
{{Event
|name=
|event_type=
|start_date=
|end_date=
|start_time=
|end_time=
|time_zone=
|venue=
|region=
|cost=
|cost_note=
|organizer=
|website=
|registration=
|description=
|last_checked=
}}
Write a short introduction: what the event is, who hosts it, and which tradition it observes.
== Program ==
== Getting there ==
== References ==
<references />
Take every date, time and price from the organizer's own announcement and cite it. Describe the event neutrally; leave out appeals and promotional wording.
A schedule on a venue page:
== Regular schedule ==
* {{KC schedule|name=Khmer language class|days=Sunday|start_time=10:00|end_time=12:00|time_zone=America/Los_Angeles|event_type=Class or workshop|cost=Free|region=SoCal}}
Opportunity
Model page: The Sok Impact Scholarship.
{{Opportunity
|name=
|opportunity_type=
|award_description=
|application_window=
|impact_geography=
}}
Write a short introduction.
== Sponsorship ==
== Award and support ==
== Eligibility ==
== Application ==
== References ==
<references />
Write sponsors as names or ordinary links. Link directly to application information and identify its cycle.
Dish
Model page: Kroeung.
{{Dish
|name=
|name_khmer=
|description=
|dish_types=
}}
== Cultural context ==
== Preparations and recipes ==
{{KCDishRecipes}}
== Regional and community variations ==
== References ==
<references />
The included recipe list finds Recipe pages whose dish field matches this page's title. Keep that line as provided; describe variations and geographic connections in ordinary text.
Recipe
{{Recipe
|title=
|dish=
|description=
|family_surname_1=
|family_surname_2=
|family_label=
|instruction_status=Partial instructions
|yield=
}}
== Ingredients ==
== Preparation ==
== Family story and variations ==
== Sources and reuse information ==
Family names are optional and require permission. Use a distinctive page title and description to distinguish preparations; no family ID is needed.
Book
Model page: First They Killed My Father (book).
{{Book
|title=
|author=
|book_type=
|year=
|language=
}}
Write a short introduction describing the book and its community or cultural connection.
== About the book ==
== Publication and editions ==
== Related works ==
== Access ==
== References ==
<references />
Leave unknown fields blank. A source, title and short introduction are enough to start. Add title_khmer, publisher, isbn or subjects when useful, identifying the edition for a publisher or ISBN that differs from the original.
Translations and editions can normally be described on the same work page. Link a film adaptation in Related works using an ordinary wiki link.
Film
Model page: In the Life of Music.
{{Film
|title=
|director=
|film_format=
|film_type=
|year=
|language=
}}
Write a short introduction describing the film and its community or cultural connection.
== Synopsis ==
== Production and credits ==
== Related works ==
== Access ==
== References ==
<references />
Leave unknown fields blank. Add title_khmer, country, runtime or subjects when useful. Other writers, producers, performers and credits can be ordinary text; no person pages or relationship records are required.
Keep film format separate from documentary/fiction classification. Link to a source book in Related works, and list viewing destinations and any known access restrictions in Access.
Tradition
Model page: Bon Om Touk.
{{Tradition
|name=
|name_khmer=
|also_known_as=
|tradition_type=
|occasion=
}}
Write a short introduction describing the practice and who keeps it.
== Practice ==
== History ==
== Variations ==
== Communities and practitioners ==
== References ==
<references />
Leave unknown fields blank. A name, a short introduction and a source are enough to start. Add subjects when useful.
Describe the practice itself here. An organization that teaches or hosts it, and a particular year's event, belong on their own pages and can be linked with ordinary wiki links.
Regional and family differences belong in Variations, written as description rather than ranking. Where a practice is contested or changing, say so plainly and attribute the account.
Music release
Model page: The Deepest Lake.
{{MusicRelease
|title=
|artist=
|release_type=
|year=
|language=
}}
Write a short introduction describing the release and its community or cultural connection.
== About the release ==
== Track list ==
== Credits ==
== Access ==
== References ==
<references />
Leave unknown fields blank. Add title_khmer, label or subjects when useful.
List tracks as an ordinary numbered or bulleted list. Songwriters, arrangers and guest performers are ordinary text; no separate page is needed for a track or a performer.
List listening destinations in Access with any access conditions you know. Where a release collects older recordings, say which period the material comes from.
Collection
Model page: Bophana Center Archive.
{{Collection
|name=
|institution=
|collection_scope=
|language=
}}
Write a short introduction naming the collection, who holds it and what it covers.
== Overview ==
== Material coverage ==
== Catalog and access ==
== Selected recordings ==
== References ==
<references />
Leave unknown fields blank. A name, a holding institution, a short introduction and a source are enough to start. Add name_khmer, catalogue_reference or subjects when useful.
Describe counts, formats, date ranges and series in Material coverage. Put the catalog name, identifier, collection context and link together in Catalog and access, and state any restriction the holding institution states.
List only recordings that have their own page in Selected recordings, using ordinary wiki links. KhmerConnection indexes collections; it does not hold or provide the material.
Recording
Model page: Oral history interview with Sara Pol-Lim.
{{Recording
|title=
|collection=
|recording_type=
|narrator=
|interviewer=
|recording_date=
|language=
}}
Write a short introduction naming the recording, its narrator and the collection that holds it.
== About the recording ==
== Credits ==
== Access ==
== References ==
<references />
Leave unknown fields blank. Add title_khmer, duration, catalogue_reference or subjects when useful.
Keep the narrator and the interviewer distinct, and do not guess which role a named person held. Keep the recording date distinct from the period discussed; the period belongs in About the recording.
In Access, give the catalog citation as one sentence or bullet, then list recording, transcript and finding-aid links separately where they differ. Say plainly what the holding institution says about restrictions, permission and reuse.
Keep enough description that the entry remains useful if a link later stops working.
Creator
Model page: Chef Nak.
{{Creator
|name=
|name_khmer=
|aliases=
|roles=
|active_period=
|country=
|recognition=
|website=
|subjects=
|description=
}}
'''Name''' is a one-sentence introduction naming what the creator makes and where they work. ([https://example.org Source])
Two or three more sentences on the body of work, each supported by a source.
== Works ==
{{KCCreatorWorks}}
== Recognition ==
Awards and honors, each with a source. Remove this heading when there are none.
== References ==
<references />
Keep the introduction brief and factual. Describe what someone has made; do not praise them. Add the creators field to each of their works so the Works list fills in.
Other subjects
For another in-scope subject, begin with a plain article:
Write a short introduction identifying the subject and its community or cultural connection. == Background == == Related subjects == == Access == == References == <references />
Adapt the headings to the subject. Credits, related works and catalog references can be written as ordinary lists and links.
Heritage site
Model page: Phnom Da.
{{HeritageSite
|name=
|name_khmer=
|also_known_as=
|site_type=
|location=
|country=
|period=
}}
Write one sentence identifying the place, where it stands and when it was built.
== History ==
== Architecture and layout ==
== Art and inscriptions ==
== Significance and conservation ==
== Visiting ==
== References ==
<references />
Write from within the tradition the place belongs to. Visiting holds facts such as access and opening arrangements, not advice.
Cultural object
Model page: Krishna Lifting Mount Govardhan.
{{CulturalObject
|name=
|name_khmer=
|object_type=
|material=
|period=
|holding_institution=
|catalogue_reference=
}}
Write one sentence identifying the object, its date and where it is held today.
== The object ==
== Iconography ==
== Date and origin ==
== Provenance ==
== References ==
<references />
Describe the object in the voice of a museum label. Provenance tells how the object left Cambodia and reached its holder when a source says so, including any repatriation. Say Buddha image rather than statue.
Learning resource
Model page: Khmer at the Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute.
{{LearningResource
|title=
|title_khmer=
|provider=
|resource_type=
|language=
|audience=
}}
Write one sentence identifying the resource, who made it and who it is for.
== About the resource ==
== Contents ==
== Access ==
== References ==
<references />
Informal community
{{Organization
|name=
|type=Community association
|participation_mode=
|subjects=
|facebook=
}}
Write a short sourced introduction identifying the community and its purpose.
== Community ==
== Joining ==
== See also ==
== References ==
<references />
Remove empty fields and headings. Use the group's primary existing organization type; Community association is an example, not a requirement for professional or advocacy networks. Do not assume a country, address, legal status or a participation language.
Publication
Model page: The Threaded Path.
{{Publication
|name=
|publication_type=
|description=
|subjects=
|language=
|publisher=
|website=
}}
Write a neutral sourced introduction explaining the publication and its Khmer connection.
== Coverage and formats ==
== Access ==
== Selected works ==
== Editorial credits and history ==
== See also ==
== References ==
<references />
Use Magazine, Newsletter, Podcast, Video series, Journal or Social editorial feed. Multiple documented forms can be separated by semicolons. Remove sections that the evidence does not support. Selected works are optional; neither every episode nor every contributor needs a page. Source citations are ordinary external links, not Cite markup.
Organization newsletter section
== Newsletter == Name the newsletter and describe only its documented purpose or relationship to this organization. Link the confirmed subscription, supporter-information or inquiry route. Distinguish those actions. Do not claim payment is required solely because a newsletter is listed as a donor benefit.
Access destination rows
{| class="wikitable"
! Destination !! Available !! Access conditions
|-
| [CONFIRMED_URL Public destination label] || Reading, viewing, listening, following or membership, as appropriate || Supported access condition and citation; omit unknown conditions
|}
Use ordinary wikitext rows or a short list, not relationship IDs or subobjects. A subscription, a group membership and following an account are different actions. Remove unknowns rather than publishing placeholder text.
Journal
{{Publication
|name=
|publication_type=Journal
|subjects=
|language=
|publisher=
|website=
}}
Write a neutral sourced introduction establishing the journal's identity and Khmer connection.
== Scope and readership ==
== Publisher and editorial approach ==
== Access and submissions ==
== Publication details ==
== References ==
<references />
Remove unsupported fields and empty headings. Peer review, identifiers, frequency and submission instructions each need their own evidence; use the current route when a publisher clearly identifies an older route as superseded.
Social editorial feed
{{Publication
|name=
|publication_type=Social editorial feed
|subjects=
|language=
|publisher=
|website=
}}
Write a neutral sourced introduction identifying the editorial project and its cultural focus.
== Editorial focus ==
== Access ==
== Selected examples ==
== Publisher and related projects ==
== References ==
<references />
Classify the editorial project, not the platform. A confirmed canonical social destination may fill website. Link selected examples without copying full posts; remove the section if it is unnecessary. Followers and a Community platform label do not establish a group membership or joining process.
