Wat


Wat Khmer Krom, also known as the Khmer Kampuchea Krom Buddhist Temple, is a Buddhist temple on Barton Street East in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada.[1][2] It follows Theravada Buddhism in the Khmer Krom tradition.[3]

Religious life

The temple offers daily chanting, Dhamma study, meditation and meals. Its services are open to all and free of charge.[4] Truong T. Dhammo, an ordained monk, is the resident teacher, and the Venerable Thach Dhammo Truong is listed as spiritual director.[3][5] The temple is affiliated with Wat Khmer Serey Sousdey Temple of London.[3]

Community

The temple says it has an active community in the Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara area. It focuses on Southern Ontario and describes itself as a resource for much of the rest of the province.[6] English, Khmer, Laotian, Thai and Vietnamese are spoken there.[6][4] Its Facebook page carries the name Wat Khmer Kampuchea Krom, a Khmer Buddhist Foundation.[7]

The temple's website gives 516 Barton Street, Stoney Creek, L8E 2L6.[1] Google Maps lists the related Wat Khmers Krom Hamilton at 516 Barton Street with the postal code L8E 2S9.[8] In 2022 and 2025 local service directories listed 516 Barton Street East, Hamilton, L8L 2Y8.[4][5]

As of November 2025 the temple was open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.[5] In 2022 it was listed as fully accessible.[4] Its office telephone in the 2022 and 2025 directories was 905-664-5547, and a second website at stoneycreekbuddhism.wixsite.com/temple was listed in 2025.[4][5][2]
