Heng Seng Restaurant
Heng Seng Restaurant is a family-owned Cambodian restaurant on South 7th Street in Philadelphia's Cambodia Town.[1] A Cambodian-Teochew family has owned and run it since 1989.[1]
History
More than 30 years after 1989, the restaurant says it has become popular within the Southeast Asian community.[1] In May 2025 the family opened a second restaurant, Heng Seng Noodles, in Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey.[2]
Food
The kitchen serves Cambodian comfort food.[1] Its Phnom Penh-style kuyteav is a traditional breakfast soup of noodles in a mild pork broth, eaten at any time of day with condiments to taste, or served dry with the soup on the side.[3] The hu tieu nam vang has a smoky, clear pork broth with vegetables, shrimp and thin rice noodles. The noodle soups are large enough for two or three people.[4][5] Rice congee comes in large bowls with chicken, pork and shrimp, often with deep-fried dough for dipping.[3][4]
Visiting
The small dining room has large booths along the walls, and the restaurant is open during the day.[4][3] It serves dine-in and takeout, with takeout orders taken by phone. It accepts cash only and does not deliver.[1]
