Wat
Wat Trairatanaram
Wat Trairatanaram (វត្តត្រៃរតនារាម), also known as Trai Ratanaram Temple, is a Theravada Khmer Buddhist temple on Riverdale Road in College Park, Georgia.[1][2] It is distinct from Trairatanaram Temple in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
History
Published address listings for the temple date from 2011 to 2019. A 2011 directory of Khmer wats listed Wat Trairatanaram at 5530 Riverdale Road, College Park, with the telephone number (770) 996-5688, and the 2014 edition gave the same address.[3][4] The temple was photographed as Trairatanaram Temple in 2013.[5] It is also listed as Wat Triratanaram.[6] A 2016 memorial notice set a temple ceremony at Wat Trairatanaram Temple, 5530 Riverdale Road, Atlanta, for August 13, 2016, and asked for donations to Wat Trairatanaram Temple Inc.[7]
In 2022 work was under way on a new temple building in traditional Khmer style.[5] The temple has been building its Dhamma hall, the main temple building.[2] The 2026 edition of a directory of Cambodian Buddhist temples in the United States lists four monks at the temple.[1]
Religious life
The temple hosted Khmer New Year celebrations on April 12 and 13, 2025, listed under the Cambodian American Association of Georgia. That listing gives the street number as 5330 Riverdale Road.[8] Its Cambodian New Year festival in 2026 was set for April 11 and 12.[2]
Associations
Wat Trairatanaram Temple Inc. (associated organization).[9]
The notice names Wat Trairatanaram Temple Inc. as the temple donation recipient. It does not establish property ownership.
