Wat Satharam
Wat Satharam (វត្តសត្ថារាម) is a Khmer Buddhist temple on Northwood Street in Lexington, Kentucky.[1][2]
History
The temple follows Theravada Buddhism and holds Khmer religious services. It was founded many years ago by Pou Ouk. In September 2021 its members raised funds to finish the building, which covers about 334 square meters (3,600 square feet). At that time it still lacked full insulation, drywall and flooring. The appeal sought $20,000 for drywall, flooring, electrical work and paint on the first and second levels, while friends and families promised to give their labor in their spare time. They hoped to finish before October 23, 2021, in time for Pchum Ben.[2] The appeal gave the address as 130 Northwood Drive; the temple directory gives 130 Northwood Street.[2][1] In 2026 one monk lived at the temple.[1]
