Wat Khmer Metta
Wat Khmer Metta (វត្តខ្មែរមេត្តា) is a Theravada Khmer Buddhist temple on North Winthrop Avenue in the Uptown area of Chicago, Illinois.[1][2] It is also known as the Kampuchean Buddhist Society.[3][4]
Religious life
The temple gives Cambodians in Chicago a peaceful place to gather and pray, and Cambodian monks pray there.[2] The World Buddhist Directory lists it in the Thai Maha Nikaya tradition of Theravada Buddhism and as affiliated with the Council of Thai Bhikkus in the USA.[5] The Open Sangha Foundation lists it as serving Cambodian, Thai, Laotian and Vietnamese Theravada Buddhists.[3]
