Wat
Wat Khemara Rukh Aram
Wat Khemara Rukh Aram, also known as Wat Khemararukharam and Lexington Buddhist Temple, is a Khmer Buddhist temple in Lexington, North Carolina.[1] It is linked with the Cambodian Cultural Center of North Carolina.[1]
History
The 2011 and 2014 temple directories listed the temple as Wat Khemara Rukharam at 185 Pine Lodge Road, Lexington, with the telephone numbers (336) 357-5769 and (336) 357-2449.[2][3] In 2014 a photographic directory grouped Wat Khemararukharam, Lexington Buddhist Temple and the Cambodian Cultural Center of North Carolina (CCC-NC) as one place in the Greensboro, High Point and Piedmont Triad area.[1][4]
A later directory lists the temple as Wat Khemararam (វត្តខេមរារាម), run as the Cambodian Cultural Center, Inc., at 235 Cambodian Cultural Center Road, Lexington, with the same number, (336) 357-5769. In 2026 it listed one monk there.[5] The directories do not show whether the new address marks a renamed road or a move.
Associations
Cambodian Cultural Center (associated organization).[6]
The photographic directory explicitly groups Wat Khemararukharam, Lexington Buddhist Temple and Cambodian Cultural Center of North Carolina. A temple directory uses Cambodian Cultural Center, Inc. and gives 235 Cambodian Cultural Center Road, Lexington, with the same 336-357-5769 phone; it does not establish whether that is a renamed road or a relocation.[5]
