History

Temple News dated the temple's establishment to April 25, 2007. It listed the address as 67067 A, Kaleohanui Street, Waialua, HI 96791, and the website as www.dhammaram.info.[1] The Cambodian-American Buddhist Association of Hawaii (CABAH) spelled the street Kaelohanui and placed the temple across the street from the Waialua High School basketball court.[2][3]

On Sunday, July 12, 2009, the association's board invited members and guests to the temple for Bon Chol Preah Vasa, the start of the Buddhist Lent. Guests arrived at 9 a.m. to worship the Triple Gem, observe the five precepts, offer food to the monks, meditate and dedicate merit, and everyone shared lunch at noon.[2]

Community

Wat Khmer Hawaii Buddharam, at 15-1435 20th Avenue in Keaʻau, is a Khmer temple on Hawaiʻi Island, a separate island from Oʻahu. Its contact page publishes visitor arrangements.[4]

Associations

Cambodian-American Buddhist Association of Hawaii (associated organization).[5]

The association's blog carries the temple's name and invited members and guests to a Buddhist Lent ceremony at the temple on July 12, 2009. The source does not state whether the association operated or owned the temple; no such role is inferred.
