Wat Buddha Raksmey
Wat Buddha Raksmey is a Khmer Buddhist temple serving a small Cambodian community in the rural town of Rosharon, Texas, United States.[1] It is registered as Buddha Raksmey Monastery.[2]
History
The 2014 directory of Khmer Buddhist temples listed the temple as Wat Preah Buddha Rasmey, at 7106 Ross Road, Rosharon, TX 77583, with the telephone number (281) 369-3417.[3] The nonprofit Buddha Raksmey Monastery holds the EIN 47-2091279.[2]
In 2017 Hurricane Harvey destroyed much of the Rosharon community, including the temple. The community was still rebuilding in 2024. That year Polo Chhuon organized a fundraiser for the monastery to improve its facilities, with the money set aside only for building materials and construction, including architectural drawings, permits and contractors.[1]
A 2024 list of Khmer pagodas in the United States gave the temple as Wat Buddharasmey, at 7106 Ross Road, Rosharon, TX 77587, with the telephone numbers (281) 369-0533 and (281) 369-2015.[4]
