Trieu Chau is a Chinese and Vietnamese noodle restaurant on West First Street in Santa Ana, California, open since 1982.[1][2] Its menu draws on Teochew cooking.[3] The restaurant says it also serves a wide selection of Cambodian dishes.[1][4]

History

The business started on October 7, 1982, and is also known as Trieu Chau Restaurant. As of 2013 it was a sole proprietorship owned by Tang Meng Kuong.[2]

Food

The house specialty is mi Trieu Chau kho, egg noodles with pork and assorted seafood, served with a side of pork broth.[5] Noodles come as small or large egg noodles, rice noodles or thick noodles, either in soup or dry with the broth on the side. Seafood noodle soup comes with house-made fish balls, and fried dough is served for dipping in the broth.[3] The long menu also runs to hu tieu, Teochew satay noodles, duck noodle soup, roast duck, oxtail, chow fun, fried rice, wontons, curry chicken, pho and a grilled beef vermicelli salad.[3][5]

Visiting

There is seating indoors and on an outdoor patio, and takeout is available. In 2020, online orders were paid for at the store, and the restaurant did not take credit cards.[1]
