Tracy Guan is an author, educator and bilingual speech-language pathologist who founded Tangerine and Jade Press.[1][2] Her picture book Lunchtime with Samnang follows a young Cambodian-American boy who explores his Khmer culture and heritage through food and travel.[3]

Lunchtime with Samnang is illustrated by Bo Feng Lin and published by Tangerine and Jade Press. It carries a 2020 copyright, and its listed publication date is January 1, 2021.[1][3] In the story, the boy's family is getting ready for a trip to Cambodia, where his grandparents are from, and he hears stories from his father and grandparents.[3] The book uses the five senses to show the cultures, traditions and flavors of Cambodia. It is recommended for PreK through fourth grade, ages 3 to 9.[1] The hardcover has full-color illustrations in a 23 by 23 cm (9 by 9 in) format. Duck Duck Books lists it at 36 pages and Goodreads at 30 pages.[1][3]

A further children's book, Love Is Mama's Hands, was in preparation when Guan appeared on episode 42 of the Chluy Talk Podcast.[2]

Appearances

On September 20, 2025, Guan showed her books as an author vendor at the Made in Boston Festival.[4]
