Spoken Cambodian is a course book in spoken Khmer by Franklin E. Huffman, published by Yale University Press.[1] The book runs to 480 pages.[1]

The language

Khmer, also called Cambodian, is the official language of Cambodia and is spoken by most of its people. About 1.3 million people speak it in southeastern Thailand, and more than a million in southern Vietnam.[2] It has been written since the early 7th century in a script that came from South India. Old Khmer, the language of Angkor, is the direct ancestor of the modern language.[2]
