Siem Reap was a Cambodian and Thai restaurant on Georgesville Road in west Columbus, Ohio. It was named after a city in Cambodia.[1] It opened in 2012 near a casino that was new at the time and served a short menu of Cambodian and Thai dishes.[1]

Food

Meals began with a small free salad of pickled carrots, daikon and green papaya topped with roasted peanuts. The stuffed chicken wings came deboned and filled with spicy lemongrass chicken sausage and glass noodles.[1] The menu also had beef skewers, larb (a cold minced chicken salad in lime sauce) and a rice soup in a rich, slightly sweet broth, served with herbs, lime wedges, bean sprouts and Chinese-style savory crullers, with cubes of pig's blood on request.[1] A curry "fondue" hot pot brought a simmering pot of mild curry broth seasoned with fish sauce, with vegetables, squid, shrimp, beef and pork rinds to cook at the table. Desserts included sesame balls filled with yellow bean paste and a coconut and rice jelly.[1]

History

In 2013 diners recommended its amok, a fish curry, and the restaurant began serving beer, including Singha, after it received a beer and wine license.[1] By May 2015 a banner for a different restaurant hung outside the address, and the phone went unanswered.[1][2]
