Seoul Sisters Pocha
Seoul Sisters Pocha is a Cambodian and Vietnamese restaurant on South Winton Road in Henrietta, New York, just south of Rochester.[1] It opened in 2025 as a Korean sister restaurant to Sodam Korean Restaurant and later turned to Southeast Asian cooking.[2] It is known for Cambodian dishes such as lort cha and num banh chok, served alongside Vietnamese pho.[1]
History
Seoul Sister's Pocha Inc. was registered as a New York business corporation on November 18, 2024.[3] Chaewon Kim, who also owns Sodam Korean Restaurant, opened it in March 2025 as a sister concept exploring other sides of Korean cooking, with dishes such as gyeran jjim (steamed egg), shumai and kimchi jeon (kimchi pancake).[2][1][4][5]
In January 2026 the Democrat and Chronicle named Kim as owner and reported a new chef and a Southeast Asian menu with Thai and Vietnamese dishes.[2] A ROCville listing updated in May 2026 gave a different account: it said that Kim found two locations too much to manage and that Jay and Clarissa Chunwick, who had run Sweet Basil Cafe in Victor, took over the space and kept the name. The menu then shifted to their background in Cambodian, Vietnamese and Thai cooking.[1]
Food
The menu draws mainly on Cambodian and Vietnamese cooking, with some Thai dishes.[1] Soups include pho and the Cambodian num banh chok, a coconut curry soup, and samlor machu. Lort cha is a short rice noodle dish with a savory sauce and a fried egg, and cha kreang is a lemongrass stir-fry with garlic, basil and ginger. Lok loc comes as saucy beef over greens with a lime and pepper sauce.[1]
There are also pad thai, lo mein, basil and lemongrass fried rice, fresh and fried spring rolls, papaya salad, and red and green curries, with shrimp, beef, tofu or vegetables. Vegan and gluten-free choices are offered.[1]
Visiting
The restaurant is in the Plaza at Win-Jeff, which has on-site parking, a short drive from the Rochester Institute of Technology and Marketplace Mall.[1] It offers dine-in service, online ordering for pickup, catering and private parties.[1][6]
