Organization
Save Cambodia, Inc.
Save Cambodia, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that works to raise awareness of Cambodian issues.[1] Thayvie Sinn is its founder and president, and its team has carried out the work since 2012.[2] The organization says it connects Cambodian communities around the world and develops strategies for change.[2] Its motto is "Stand To Rise," and its logo shows a curved path narrowing toward Angkor Wat.[2]
History
Save Cambodia received federal tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) charity in August 2014.[3][4] The human rights lawyer Morton Sklar (1940 to 2026), who served as legal counsel to the Khmer community for more than three decades, was its foundational legal counsel. His work spanned litigation, international advocacy and accountability efforts in U.S. and international forums, and he worked closely with Save Cambodia in the last years of his life.[2]
Contributions made up nearly all of its income. In 2024 it reported $71,761 in revenue and $72,027 in expenses, and Thayvie Sinn served as president without pay.[3][5]
Community
A Khmer Community Relations Committee links the organization with the overseas Khmer community. Save Cambodia says the committee keeps that community informed and engaged with its international advocacy work.[2] The organization lists open-mindedness, integrity, courage, resilience and diplomacy as its core values.[2]
Location
Save Cambodia has been listed in Washington, D.C. Its federal tax records give its address as 7238 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[4][3]
