Riverside Market, also called Riverside Supermarket, is a Cambodian and Southeast Asian grocery and prepared-food market on Anaheim Street. It is in Long Beach's Cambodia Town.[1] It stocks Southeast Asian cooking ingredients and runs a hot-food counter, and it is one of the region's Cambodian markets where home cooks shop for Cambodian ingredients.[2][3]

History

In 2019 the market stood at 1842 East Anaheim Street, in a bright pink building with writing in Khmer, Spanish and Chinese, its front windows barred with metal gates.[1] The market has since changed hands, and by 2026 visitors noted that it was under new ownership.[2]

Food

Chinese, Thai, Lao and Cambodian cooking spices and candies hang from the shelves, and whole fried fish sit under bright heat lamps. In 2019 an elderly woman cut tropical fruits into flower shapes by hand in the back aisle, and fresh, handmade delicacies were sold alongside.[1] Among the handmade goods are Cambodian pandan waffles with coconut filling, num lapov (Cambodian pumpkin cake) and nam sausage. The hot-food section offers fried taro, potatoes, grilled fish and Khmer beef sticks.[2]
