Phnom Pich Jewelry
Phnom Pich Jewelry is a family-owned Cambodian jewelry store on East Anaheim Street in Cambodia Town, Long Beach, California, founded in 1990.[1][2] Its full name is Phnom Pich Jewelry Int'l.[1] The business calls itself one of the oldest family-owned and operated Cambodian jewelry stores in Long Beach.[3]
The store
The store sells engagement rings and other jewelry, including traditional Southeast Asian pieces.[4] An in-house jeweler makes custom pieces and handles repairs such as resizing and stone setting, and a gemologist who specializes in diamonds works on site.[5][1][4] It belongs to the Midtown Business Improvement District.[6]
Charles Song is recorded as the store's owner.[7] In 2020 the Long Beach Post named Tharith Tan as the owner. That year, during a night of looting in Long Beach, Tan watched on his phone's security feed as one of four looters swung a sledgehammer at the display cases. The looters took expensive tools and damaged the showcases, and Tan rushed to board up the windows while friends from the neighborhood stood guard.[2] "Everything in that safe was not really as valuable as those people," Tan said of the people who came to help.[2]
