Phnom Penh Restaurant is a Cambodian restaurant on University Boulevard in Silver Spring, Maryland.[1][2] Its menu pairs Khmer specialties with Vietnamese-style noodle soups and vermicelli bowls, and every dish comes with steamed rice.[1]

Food

The Khmer dishes include bayon, a Cambodian curry with zucchini, summer squash, eggplant, green beans and snow peas, and smok Siemreap, shrimp, scallops, crab and catfish steamed with coconut milk in a banana-leaf cup.[1] Kuy teav chha kreoung tek trey phem is vermicelli with homemade kreoung, chopped spring roll, basil, peanuts and coconut. Mee Khmer is rice noodles sautéed with tofu, chilies, garlic, shallots and Chinese chives under a shredded omelet.[1] Other dishes are taprom, a sweet and sour dish in lemongrass and tamarind sauce; neak poan, with bamboo shoots, coconut milk and pineapple; beef loklak; a Cambodian crepe of rice flour and coconut milk; and natin, coconut ground pork with crispy rice.[1] A hot pot of shrimp, squid, beef and scallops is cooked at the table in a Khmer boiling sauce.[1]
