The Niem Nay-kret oral history audio recording, 2019 is an interview recorded on September 15, 2019, for the Southeast Asian Digital Archive Oral History Project.[1] The project is based at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.[1]

About the recording

Niem Nay-kret speaks about her early life in Cambodia and her years under the Khmer Rouge. She also talks about the jobs she has held in the United States in healthcare, among them prenatal care and mental health work.[1] The recording includes mentions of weapons, violent situations and other experiences that may be distressing. Its geographic coverage is Lowell, Massachusetts.[1]

The collection

The interview is Oral History #19.06 in the Southeast Asian Digital Archive Oral History Project, which began in 2019 and continues. The collection is held as UML 17 at the Center for Lowell History, University of Massachusetts Lowell, and its record is updated as new oral histories become available.[2] Chornai Pech and Monita Chea are credited with making the collection available online.[2]
