Mekong Asian Market is a grocery on Rainier Avenue South in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood, selling Thai, Lao and Cambodian foods since 1986.[1] It stocks Cambodian groceries, beef skewers and pickled vegetables. The business is registered as CLM Trading LLC and is listed as women-owned.[2][3]

History

The market began in 1986 as a small grocery selling basic Asian products and grew to carry goods from many countries across Asia, along with household items.[4] In August 2026 it marked 40 years in the neighborhood.[5]

Products

The shelves hold seasonings and pastes, sauces and condiments, noodles, rice, flour, canned and packaged foods, snacks, drinks, kitchenware and personal-care goods, arranged by country of origin.[2][3] Among the harder-to-find items are Burmese pickled tea leaves, river tamarind, durian candy and small fruit-shaped mung bean cakes.[1] Fresh produce includes Thai basil and kaffir lime leaves, and a deli section sells ready-to-eat Thai food.[3][6] Banh mi sandwiches are sold by the register.[3]

Visiting

Shoppers can buy in the store, order online through the market's website or app for pickup, or have orders shipped anywhere in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska.[5][2] A directory listing gives hours of 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. every day. The market has a private parking lot and accepts credit cards.[3]
