Letters from Laos, Cambodia and beyond is a newsletter by Lili Sisombat about family stories, culture and customs from Laos, Cambodia and beyond.[1][2] It sets out to share what is worth knowing about families and culture, "so we know where we are coming from."[2]

The newsletter

The newsletter asks how to remember, preserve and pass on culture, and how to flourish in a world that is hard to understand.[2] It invites its readers to be part of a community that celebrates Lao, Cambodian and wider roots, and to share their own stories.[1] Each new edition is sent by email, and subscription is free.[1][3]

Posts appear in English and French, some with Lao words. They include "Khmer cookbooks, our review" (2023), on cookbooks in the family kitchen and a nearby national library, and, in 2025, "Of bones and ashes," "My mom's US farewell tour 2025," "Words of wisdom from my father" and a two-part French series on the life and legacy of Georges Louis Paul Drouot (1875 to 1929).[3][4]
