Organization

The Khmer Association of Minnesota was a Cambodian American community organization that worked in refugee resettlement and social services. In January 1993 it merged with the Refugee and Immigrant Resource Center to form the United Cambodian Association of Minnesota (UCAM).[1][2]

History

Meng Kruy Ung, the founder of the first Cambodian refugee center in Minnesota, had established the Refugee and Immigrant Resource Center in Farmington, the association's partner in the merger.[2] The organization formed by the merger offered cultural, legal and employment services to refugees and immigrants.[2] The Khmer Association of Minnesota no longer operates on its own; UCAM carries on its work.[1]
