Organization

The Khmer Alliance Foundation (KAF) is a Cambodian American foundation in Lynnwood, Washington, operating since 1988.[1] It promotes social services and educational programs for the people of Cambodia and for the local Cambodian American community.[1][2]

History

The community leader Van Sar started and led the foundation, one of many Cambodian organizations he built in Washington. He died in 2023 at the age of 83.[3] The foundation is a member of the Cambodian American Community Council of Washington (CACCWA).[1]

Programs

The foundation's work spans community services, cultural preservation and philanthropy. Its Advocacy program informs the general public about the past and present situation in Cambodia and holds a public forum for views on the well-being of the Cambodian people.[4] Its Community program supports poor rural areas in Cambodia and links people in America with people there. Its Scholarship program assists students in Cambodia who are poor and in need.[4]
