Kao's Kitchen is a small, family-owned Cambodian restaurant on Chelmsford Street in Lowell, Massachusetts.[1][2] Pheakdey Kao and Yong Kao own it, and it stands where the Golden House Chinese restaurant used to be.[3][2]

History

On January 30, 2023, when it was among the newest restaurants in Lowell, State Senator Ed Kennedy visited and presented the owners with citations from the Massachusetts State Senate and House of Representatives.[3]

Food

The kitchen serves traditional Cambodian cooking in a casual, no-frills room, along with a range of other Southeast Asian dishes.[1][3][4] The menu includes crispy pork rolls, which are deep-fried in bean curd; lok lak, the fried "shaking beef" served with a lime-pepper sauce; and som-lor m'ju k'tis, a sour coconut soup with eggplant and a choice of meat or other protein.[1]
