Chez Sovan is a Cambodian restaurant on Oakland Road in San Jose, California.[1] Its cooking includes fish amok, lemongrass beef skewers and stir-fried noodles.[2]

History

Sovan Boun Thuy founded Chez Sovan. By 2019, Brian Nong was running the Oakland Road restaurant as a weekday lunch spot.[2]

Food

The restaurant's amok is an aromatic catfish preparation steamed in banana leaf. Other dishes include marinated lemongrass beef skewers and paprika-tamarind noodles.[2] Its published menu also includes Samlaw Machou Kroeng, Samlaw Korh-Ko, Samlaw Ktis with pork ribs or fish, beef Saraman and beef Korko.[3]

Noodle dishes include Kuy Tiew Cha, Cha Me Kathang and Nom Banh Chok, a Khmer noodle soup. Appetizers include kabob sticks, egg rolls and Bie Khdung Nathang rice cakes, and the fish dishes include Trey Chhean Chourn. The menu lists platters of skewers, egg rolls and rice cakes.[3]
