Campuccino
Campuccino is a fortnightly email newsletter by Darathtey Din that gathers key Cambodian news headlines, with commentary.[1] It covers politics, economics, arts and culture.[1]
Editorial approach
Din started the newsletter because no single place gathered Cambodia's major headlines, which she links to the state of media freedom in the country.[1] Each issue collects headlines from different news outlets, groups them by topic and adds her own opinion.[1] Din calls herself a writer and commentator rather than a journalist, and came to the media community through political blogging around the 2013 election and her work in communications.[1] The newsletter also highlights writers and reporters working under difficult press-freedom conditions in Cambodia.[2]
Issue 84, "Ironclad tie and national pride," closed the year in December 2024.[3] The Southeast Asia newsletter writer Erin Cook has recommended it and noted its humor and tact.[2][4]
