Organization
Cambodian Student Association in the United States of America (CSAUSA)
The Cambodian Student Association in the United States of America (CSAUSA) is a student-led nonprofit for Cambodian students studying in the United States.[1] It was set up to connect these students, support them, help them take the lead and speak up for them.[1]
History
In July 2021 CSAUSA announced that the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in the United States had officially endorsed it. It recognized an executive board for 2021 to 2022.[1] In November 2022 it announced new, embassy-endorsed board members for 2022 to 2023, and in January 2024 it did the same for 2023 to 2024.[1]
Community
Sean Mory Sothy, a student from Phnom Penh, was working toward a PhD in bioanalytical chemistry at the University of California, Riverside, in 2023. He joined the association to make friends, build cooperation and offer mutual help. He sees it as a way to put his skills to work for fellow Cambodians.[2]
