History

In 1987 the Cambodian American Society Humanitarian Association of New York and New Jersey bought a house at 26 Rugby Road, in the Prospect Park South neighborhood. It made the house a pagoda, a place of worship, for Cambodian newcomers.[3] Kevin Sary, who came to Brooklyn as a refugee, explained the purpose in 2018: "They established this temple so that those who wanted to preserve the culture, preserve the traditions and the religion, they can come here to celebrate."[3]
