Organization

Association Meatophum Khmer of Canada (AMKC) is a nonprofit Cambodian Canadian community association in Ontario, Canada.[1] Its early founders set out to help Cambodian refugees in Ontario and Quebec settle into life in Canada while keeping Cambodian culture, customs and values alive.[1]

Community

AMKC organizes events for the Cambodian Canadian community throughout the year. Its main event is the celebration of Cambodian Independence Day.[1] It also holds cultural events that show the talents and achievements of Cambodians across Canada, and it promotes the small businesses of its Cambodian Canadian members.[1] The association credits itself with helping to build the Cambodian community in Toronto and to promote its culture and heritage, and it calls itself the voice of Cambodian Canadians.[1][2] AMKC is a member of the Canadian Multicultural Council of Asians in Ontario.[1]
