Organization

The Association Khmer Support Vipassana is a Khmer Buddhist meditation association in Saints, France, that runs the Dhamma Nilaya meditation center.[1] Through the association, the Khmer community in France runs the center, whose name means "House of Dhamma."[1][2]

Dhamma Nilaya

The center stands in a quiet suburb of Saints, in Seine-et-Marne, 55 kilometers (34 miles) east of Paris. It was a private house until it was bought in May 1997.[1] The grounds cover about 5,600 square meters (1.4 acres), with mature trees and a pond. The meditation hall, or Dhamma Hall, holds up to 40 students, and the kitchen and washrooms serve the same number.[1]

Because students cannot stay overnight, the center holds one-day courses and courses for children. From July 2005 it planned two one-day courses a month for Khmer-speaking and French-speaking students. Its courses for children are taught by teachers who speak Khmer and teachers who speak French.[1]
