A & F Market is a small Asian grocery on Santa Fe Avenue, near Willow Street, in West Long Beach, California.[1][2] In 2018 it specialized in Filipino foods and filled about 2,300 square feet (about 214 square meters).[3] Its owner in 2021 was Manny Yin.[1]

History

When the building went up for sale in 2018, buyers had to purchase the market along with it.[3] In 2021 the store joined the Long Beach Healthy Market Partnership Program, a city initiative to widen access to healthy food. The city counts West Long Beach among its food deserts, low-income areas with few sources of fresh food. It received up to $20,000 in CARES Act funds and more help from the city's Healthy Active Long Beach Program.[1] On August 26, 2021, a new freezer replaced its old one, so the store could stock fruits, vegetables and other healthy foods. It took down beer and cigarette ads, put fruit at the counter and hung "Healthy Checkout" signs showing mangos and honey jujubes, and the program recognized it as a "healthy market partner."[1] Yin said the partnership "makes this store look nicer."[1]

The store

The market sells many Asian products.[1] One customer wrote that it has everything needed for Vietnamese and Cambodian food.[4]

Visiting

As of December 2025 the market was open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.[4][5] It accepts credit cards and is wheelchair accessible. Parking is on the street and in a private lot.[5]
