Wat

Wat Dhammarangsey, also known as the Pagode Dhammareingsei, is a Theravada Khmer Buddhist temple on rue de la Liberté in Bagneux, near Paris, France.[1]

History

The association at the temple's address, the Fondation Bouddhique Khmère, was registered on April 21, 1987. Its stated purpose is to practice Buddhist worship in France, to keep the teachings of the Buddha among its members, to meet the costs of worship in line with the customs of Buddhism in Cambodia, to work with groups that share its aims, and to give humanitarian help in keeping with Buddhist principles.[2] In 2011 Temple News listed Wat Dhammarangsey among the Khmer Buddhist temples of France.[3] Official notices published on February 25, 2013, gave the name Association Bouddhique Dhammaraingsei (A.B.D.) at the same address.[2]

Festivals at the Grande Pagode

Under the name Fondation Bouddhique Khmer de Bagneux, the temple's association holds Khmer festivals at the Grande Pagode du Bois de Vincennes in Paris, which is managed by the Union Bouddhiste de France. The organizer telephone number published by the federation is the temple's number.[4][1] It held Khmer New Year there on April 9, 2023, and on April 11 and 12, 2026.[5][4] Its Pchum Ben celebration at the Grande Pagode is set for September 27, 2026.[4]
